Summary: The triathlon is an athletic contest consisting of three different events. This word is taken from the Greeks. Triathlons as we know them consist of swimming, cycling and running. This sporting event is a relatively young sport as it was not conceived until the 1970’s.

The most famous triathlon is the Ironman. The Ironman is the longest type of triathlon pushing athletes to swim 2.4 miles, ride for 112 miles, and finish up with a 26.2 mile run. This event is thought to be one of the most physically challenging sporting events! Not to be intimidated you do not have to start off at this caliber race. Most triathlons are not as demanding.

In this video series our expert gives great tips on triathlons. She gives great tips on how to train for each section of the triathlon. She will thoroughly cover training tips and gear needed to be an adequate at swimming, cycling and running.
